BYLINES DESK CALENDAR IS BACK

The 2012 Bylines Desk Calendar contains pieces from 53 writers in 25 states, plus Ireland and the UK. If you've never seen a Bylines Calendar, you're in for a treat. Each week contains a short nonfiction piece from writers just like you. Even Hope has a piece in this edition! This spiral bound week-to-week calendar conveniently lies flat on your desk, for easy use. It's the perfect size for . . . your desk, and since it's all about writers, it's entertaining and educational as well as practical.

Bylines 2012 features the desk of Ralph Waldo Emerson, who lived in Concord, Massachusetts. Emerson was one of the most well-known writers of his day, and gave over 1,500 talks, as well as writing a number of books, mostly about his philosophies of man, religion and nature. He is said to have inspired both Henry Thoreau and Walt Whitman in their writing. His writings are still taught in many high school English classes and college lit classes.

Hope Clark has used this calendar religiously for six years. You'll be amazed at the writers you know who will appear within these pages. Each year editor Sylvia Forbes asks for writers to submit their story for consideration - to represent a week of the year. The guidelines for the 2013 calendar are at: http://www.bylinescalendar.com/guidelines.php - deadline March 1, 2012.
