Hope's Appearances, Chats,
Conferences and Séances of Sorts
Although
she prefers to sit behind the computer all day, Hope does indeed make
appearances or presentations in person, on radio, and via chatrooms. Refer to this page often for updates.
Conferences
Hope makes several conferences per year, and if
you've ever helped with a conference, you know they plan as much as a year in
advance. If you are interested in Hope coming to your conference, get in touch
with her at hope@fundsforwriters.com
. Confirmed dates of her obligations are posted below, but tentative events are
ever planning in the background.
The best part of inviting Hope. . FREE
ADVERTISING FOR YOUR EVENT. As part of the package, Hope offers up to three
months' free advertising in her FundsforWriters newsletters for those
conferences and events that book her. See the Missouri Writers Guild testimonial
below and learn what this advertising can do for your event. FundsforWriters
newsletters reach 40,000+ readers who want to be writers. That's a targeted
market, and advertising like that is worth its weight in gold.
I wanted to get my conference off to a strong start, so I slated Hope at
the top of the conference schedule with her "Funding Streams for Your Writing
Career" as an early-arrival seminar. Over half of my attendees for our weekend
conference showed up early to hear her, and they couldn't wait for the rest of
the conference! Writers left her seminar well-educated, energized and optimistic
about their writing careers, whether they were just starting out or seasoned
pros. Hope also held a breakout for children's writers and a three-hour
small-group workshop on just grants. Writers were hooked on her information.
Having Hope as a speaker also boosted our attendance for what had
historically been a small, state-wide conference. Once Hope was on the schedule
and let her followers know her plans to attend, writers started inquiring. We
ended up with writers from 15 states and the largest conference in our 96-year
history.
~Deborah Marshall, 2011 Conference Chair, 2012 President,
Missouri Writers Guild

Evaluations from the Blue Ridge Writers Conference in Blue Ridge, GA.,
April 2011.
- So much info presented professionally and with vivacity--couldn't
write fast enough.
- Amazing! Worth price of conference just for her! Practical
application as well as new ideas/ways to look at things; very useful,
concise and NEW information; most prepared presenter of the day.
- Thoroughly enjoyed--stayed on topic--I greatly appreciated her
handout--love her sense of humor--favorite speaker at this conference.
- Funny, dry, witty, no nonsense but lots of help. Excellent.
- Very engaging--motivating--supportive
- Loved her! She had such great info, and options. I feel new
possibilities for me and makes me want to learn about technology and write,
write, write!
I am fortunate to have met Hope at the Blue Ridge, GA Writer's
Conference. Hope is completely open, accessible, charming. She is as generous
with information as you'd expect from the creator
of FundsforWriters. Hope really jumpstarted my whole approach to becoming
a published writer. ~Susan Lobo, Clarksville, Tennessee
Vivacious and upbeat, funny and engaging, C. Hope Clark is the kind of
speaker writers will ask for again and again. She is full of fresh ideas,
generous with her time, and extremely knowledgeable in a wide range of topics
important to writers. People flock to her practical, positive presentations. And
she is more and more in demand, so get on her calendar early!

Blue Ridge Writers'
Conference

Feedback from Beaufort ProWriters, Beaufort, SC
- As a 20-year freelance writing veteran, I'm always looking for
information on new story markets, grants, contests and other
money-generating opportunities for writers. In her presentation before
Beaufort (SC) ProWriters' February 2011 meeting, Hope Clark offered as much
useful information per hour as any speaker I've encountered. Her
presentation was well-organized and assured, and she answered all questions
out writers asked, and that was a lot! By its nature, writing is a solitary
profession. It's easy to fall into a rut of believing one's work is mediocre
and that there are no viable unexplored options for growing one's business.
The night Hope spoke, I left the meeting positively energized and ready to
put some of her ideas into action. ~Katherine Tandy Brown
- An evening spent with Hope Clark provides not just a peek at, but a
full-blown panoramic view of the new publishing parameters in today's
market. I attended a five-day writers retreat in Sedona that didn't come
close to providing the insight to Internet publishing that Hope did. She is
a sharp, concise speaker, and if she offers a workshop, I'm there! ~Carol
